Biomin Calcium is a glycine chelated mineral. they are a subset of amino acid chelates. Glycine is the smallest amino acid and it is often used as a chelating agent. Because of its small size, glycine passes through stomates and also through the cell membrane effectively and more easily thean other larger molecules, thus enhancing plant uptake and making it more bio-available to the plant. Comparatively, other chelates cannot pass through cell membranes as the Biomin products do, due to their large molecular size, only passing through large pores when thestomates are open. Biomin products therefore, have the advantage of being more highly available
Calcium (Ca)
- Necessary for the proper functioning of growing plants, particularly root tips
- Forms compounds which strengthen cell walls
- Aids in cell division and elongation
- Neutralises organic acids
- Aids in the proper working and pereability of cell membranes
- Regulates protein synthesis and slows the aging process
- Reduces blossom end rot
- Reduces albedo breakdown
- Reduces bitter-pit in apples
