Biomin Potassium is a glycine chelated mineral. they are a subset of amino acid chelates. Glycine is the smallest amino acid and it is often used as a chelating agent. Because of its small size, glycine passes through stomates and also through the cell membrane effectively and more easily thean other larger molecules, thus enhancing plant uptake and making it more bio-available to the plant. Comparatively, other chelates cannot pass through cell membranes as the Biomin products do, due to their large molecular size, only passing through large pores when thestomates are open. Biomin products therefore, have the advantage of being more highly available
Potassium (K)
- Aids photosynthesis and the functioning of chlorophyll
- Increases sugar and solid content
- Important for the formation and translocation of starches, sugars and fats
- Involved in protein formation
- Aids many enzyme actions
- Helps cells maintain their internal pressure
- Reduces wiliting and respiration by maintaining the balance of salts and water in cells
- Imporves crop quality
- Increases root growth, resistence to disease and drought
- Decreases lodging
